WCRC-MAʻO SMS Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 11, 2026

Last Revised: October 30, 2026

1. Scope

This SMS Privacy Policy explains how Waiʻanae Community Re-Development Corporation, doing business as MAʻO Organic Farms (MAʻO, we, or us), collects, uses, protects, and shares information connected with MAʻO’s program text messaging service. It applies to text messages related to program applications, selection, onboarding, reminders, deadlines, scheduling, program updates, and participation.

2. Information We Collect

When you choose to receive text messages from MAʻO, we may collect and maintain:

  • Your name and mobile phone number.

  • Your SMS consent choice, including the date and source of consent.

  • Messages and replies exchanged with MAʻO.

  • Delivery, opt-out, and help-request information.

  • Limited identifiers needed to connect the communication with your application or program record.

3. How We Use Information

MAʻO may use this information to:

  • Send application and program-related reminders, deadlines, scheduling information, and updates.

  • Respond to questions and provide support.

  • Manage consent, opt-out requests, and communication preferences.

  • Maintain appropriate program and communication records.

  • Monitor delivery, troubleshoot problems, protect the service, and comply with applicable requirements.

4. How We Share Information

MAʻO does not sell or rent personal information. We may use service providers to operate our application, participant-record, and messaging systems, including FormAssembly, Salesforce, and Sakari. These providers process limited information on MAʻO’s behalf to deliver and support those services.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with third parties except service providers used solely to deliver and support MAʻO’s text messaging program.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of MAʻO, its participants, or others.

5. Data Retention and Security

MAʻO retains SMS-related information only as long as reasonably necessary for program administration, recordkeeping, legal compliance, and the purposes described in this policy. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Your Choices

Receiving text messages is optional and is not required to apply to or participate in a MAʻO program. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. After opting out, you may receive a confirmation message and will not receive additional program text messages unless you opt in again. You may reply START to rejoin, when supported.

Opting out of text messages does not withdraw your application or affect program participation. MAʻO may continue to contact you through email or a staff phone call when appropriate. Email remains MAʻO’s primary communication channel.

7. Updates to This Policy

MAʻO may update this policy as its practices or requirements change. The effective date shown above will be updated when changes are made.
